Our client, a trusted electrical contractor with decades of experience in the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join their team.
 
This role is critical in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in estimating, deep knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to work effectively across teams to support preconstruction and bidding efforts.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical construction
  • Develop detailed cost breakdowns, project schedules, and proposals for bids
  • Review and interpret all levels of design documentation including conceptual, schematic, and construction drawings
  • Identify project risks and incorporate risk mitigation strategies into estimates
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits to assess conditions and requirements
  • Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to gather current pricing and lead times
  • Assist project management team in developing cost codes and aligning project budgets with estimated costs
  • Distribute qualification documents and ensure compliance with bid requirements (e.g., MBE, WBE, safety standards)
  • Create comprehensive and professional proposal letters or bid forms
  • Participate in estimate reviews with leadership prior to submission
  • Assist in preparing GMP proposals as required by customer specifications
  • Support design-build and conceptual estimating for preconstruction and early-stage projects
  • Review contract documents to identify scope, schedule, specifications, and other obligations
  • Ensure a smooth handoff to project operations by effectively communicating estimate details
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial or industrial construction
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and materials
  • Familiarity with the NEC, NFPA 70E, and other applicable codes and standards
  • Proficiency in Accubid Anywhere is preferred
  • Design-build estimating experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members
