Controls Engineer*

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to provide critical support to our production and maintenance teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring minimal production downtime through the design, implementation, and testing of automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in PLC programming, particularly with ladder logic, and bring strong troubleshooting skills to the table.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for control systems.
• Ensure the plant's control systems meet "World Class" standards through regular updates and maintenance.
• Lead small-scale electrical/control projects, upgrading obsolete systems to modern technology.
• Perform system start-ups and operational checks, including configuration, wiring, calibration, and power testing.
• Execute preventative maintenance and conduct routine inspections to ensure system integrity.
• Provide technical support to maintenance and production teams, including hardware and software applications.
• Configure and set up replacement electronic and control components tailored to specific applications.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Department to maintain and improve the plant's process networks.
• Utilize technical resources such as equipment manuals, safety materials, and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Continuously improve existing control systems, including ladder logic programs and electrical systems.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field, with a maximum of 10 years preferred.
• Strong expertise in PLC programming and troubleshooting, particularly with ladder logic.
• Experience with system start-ups and operational checkouts is essential.
• Proficiency in using technical materials for troubleshooting and system maintenance.
• Ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
