Utilities Facilities Manager – Food Manufacturing
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Utilities Facilities Manager will oversee daily maintenance operations within a major refrigerated food distribution warehouse in the Atlanta Area. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating the activities of refrigeration (Ammonia and Freon systems), facility maintenance, and wastewater teams.
The ideal candidate will maintain a safe, functional, and efficient facility by directing the installation, preventative maintenance, and repair of all machinery, tools, equipment, and utility systems.
Key Responsibilities

Refrigeration & Compliance: Ensure full operational compliance with all OSHA regulations and PSM (Process Safety Management) requirements for industrial Ammonia and Freon systems.

Team Leadership: Complete operational requirements by scheduling, assigning, and managing maintenance and utilities personnel.

Budgeting & Finance: Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual maintenance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions in alignment with the Maintenance Manager.

Preventative Maintenance: Design, implement, and modify PM programs by auditing production, quality control, and maintenance reports alongside standard equipment inspections.

Facility Efficiency: Ensure all mechanical, electrical, and structural systems meet municipal and state codes. Develop and execute a comprehensive energy plan monitoring consumption, conservation plans, and utilization effectiveness.

Capital Improvement: Partner with leadership to develop Capital Expense (CapEx) budgets and provide long-term planning for facility and equipment improvements.
Qualifications & Skills Required

Proven experience managing employees in an industrial maintenance or utilities capacity.

Strong background working with large-scale industrial refrigeration systems (Ammonia & Freon) within a food manufacturing or temperature-controlled warehouse environment.

Solid understanding of PSM programs and OSHA safety standards.
