Role Overview: We are actively seeking a seasoned Corporate M&A Attorney to spearhead the establishment of a corporate M&A practice in Connecticut. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity for a partner-level attorney with a robust portfolio and extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions, and strategic business advice. As a key player, you will be vital in developing client relationships, driving business growth, and shaping the firm's presence in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage comprehensive M&A transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
  • Draft, structure, and negotiate a wide array of transaction documents such as purchase agreements, LOIs, and shareholder agreements.
  • Oversee due diligence processes, highlighting potential risks and advising on regulatory and structural considerations.
  • Provide strategic advice to a diverse clientele, including private equity sponsors and institutional clients, on governance and transactional strategies.
  • Maintain and expand a portable book of business while cultivating new client relationships.
  • Collaborate with various practice groups to deliver holistic client services on complex transactions.
  • Meet and exceed billable targets while contributing to the firm's growth and leadership initiatives.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and engage in business development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar in good standing; New York admission is advantageous.
  • Over 10 years of focused experience in mergers and acquisitions and corporate transactional law.
  • A demonstrable portable book of business and a history of collected originations.
  • A strong professional reputation within the Connecticut corporate community and the tri-state area.
  • Proven experience in handling complex M&A transactions from initiation to post-closing integration.
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and client management skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $225,000–$300,000 annually, commensurate with experience and business portfolio. Detailed draw structure and terms will be discussed during interviews.
