Maintenance Superintendent / Manager
Position Overview
A leading fresh pork processing facility is seeking a highly skilled and well-rounded Maintenance Superintendent / Manager to oversee plant maintenance operations. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, leading plant technicians, and maintaining optimal operations across mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems. Candidate background in beef or general protein processing is welcome.
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Facilities Leadership: Direct day-to-day electrical, mechanical, and industrial refrigeration (NH3/Ammonia) maintenance activities across the facility.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Oversee PM programs to minimize operational downtime, boost machine efficiency, and extend equipment lifecycle.

Team Development: Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians and supervisors across all shifts while driving safety protocols.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with OSHA, USDA, EPA, and PSM/RMP standards for industrial refrigeration systems.

Capital & Continuous Improvement: Manage maintenance operational budgets, spare parts inventory, and capital equipment upgrade initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements

Proven maintenance management/supervisory experience within high-volume food processing (Fresh Pork or Beef processing strongly preferred).

Well-rounded technical capability across industrial mechanics, electrical systems/PLCs, and refrigeration.

Strong background in Process Safety Management (PSM) and ammonia refrigeration systems.

Excellent leadership, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement skills.
