We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our San Diego Area team. This position will oversee Earthwork and Heavy Civil Construction projects, managing all on-site operations, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Earthwork projects, including grading, paving, demolition, and other related scopes, with a proven ability to manage complex field operations and deliver results.
Supervise and coordinate field construction activities, including company crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Deliver projects on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Review and approve construction methods, sequencing, and field operations.
Manage manpower, equipment utilization, and resource allocation across multiple job sites.
Conduct and lead pre-construction and planning meetings with Project Managers and Estimators.
Thoroughly understand project scope, drawings, and specifications.
Direct and supervise foremen and field teams, providing leadership and mentorship.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Estimators to ensure project alignment and issue resolution.
Maintain and update the project schedule, tracking milestones and progress.
Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, owners, and inspectors; attend weekly coordination meetings.
Enforce full job site safety compliance with OSHA and company policies.
Manage union relations, field productivity, and performance.
Review job costs, budgets, and timesheets in coordination with the Project Manager.
Lead project closeout, ensuring timely completion and resolution of punch list items.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
Minimum 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience, including direct management of earthwork projects (grading, paving, demolition).
Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage field operations effectively.
Strong understanding of construction practices, equipment utilization, and sequencing.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Competitive base salary $120,000 – $175,000, depending on experience.
