Fabrication Manager 


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee daily operations at our beef processing facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing harvesting, boning, packaging, and safety processes to ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, skilled in team management, production optimization, and maintaining rigorous compliance with food safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across harvesting, boning, and packaging functions

  • Monitor product quality and implement corrective measures when necessary

  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and logistics to manage full production flow—from live cattle intake to finished goods shipment

  • Track and optimize key metrics including production yields, carcass breakdown, and processing efficiency

  • Manage staffing activities: recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating team members

  • Ensure full compliance with USDA regulations and company safety/food safety policies

  • Develop and manage department schedules, production goals, and performance expectations

  • Promote continuous improvement through proactive coaching and staff development

  • Control waste and uphold a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment

  • Oversee procurement of production-related supplies and equipment

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve production issues with effective corrective actions

  • Generate reports on productivity, safety, and forecasting for executive leadership

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure product quality and employee safety

  • Partner with USDA and internal stakeholders to maintain strong compliance and collaboration

  • Lead facility-wide safety initiatives and ensure audit/inspection readiness

  • Support leadership initiatives and Board directives as required


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in beef processing, including at least 3 years in fabrication leadership

  • Deep understanding of meat processing functions and operational flow
  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities to foster a positive workplace culture

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting to large groups

  • Experience in safety management and quality assurance practices

  • Analytical and reporting skills to support data-driven decision-making

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to impact operations and business performance

  • Bilingual in Spanish helpful not required

  • Familiarity with project tracking tools and controls

  • High level of professionalism and discretion


Work Environment

This role involves regular engagement in both office and production floor settings. The production environment may include exposure to cold or hot temperatures, humidity, airborne particles, and moving mechanical equipment. Strict adherence to safety standards and procedures is essential.
