EHS Manager

Overview

·      A well-established international manufacturer with decades of continuous operation is looking for a floor-present safety leader to take ownership of an existing EHS program at a large, highly automated production facility.

·      The program has solid bones and systems are in place, a coordinator is on staff, and the structure exists. What's missing is the right leader to carry it forward.

·      This is a visible, hands-on role. The expectation is that you're on the floor regularly, engaged with the workforce, and active in how safety gets managed day to day. It is not a desk position and not a compliance-only role.

Responsibilities

·       Take ownership of all EHS programs across a large-scale automated manufacturing facility

·       Lead a small team including a Safety Coordinator and support personnel

·       Drive a proactive safety culture through floor presence, employee engagement, and consistent follow-through

·       Oversee OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and all required compliance reporting

·       Manage environmental programs covering air permits, waste minimization, and recycling

·       Monitor industrial hygiene conditions including chemical exposure and noise levels

·       Coordinate with regulatory agencies on permitting, inspections, and compliance matters

·       Develop and deliver safety training for both associates and management

·       Lead safety committee planning and facility-wide safety initiatives

·       Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify hazards and engage employees directly

·       Set and track departmental safety metrics including lost-time incident goals

·       Support continuous improvement efforts and collaborate with plant operations leadership

·       Manage new hire safety orientation

Requirements

·       BS/BA in Environmental Safety, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline preferred

·       2+ years of hands-on plant safety experience in a manufacturing setting required

·       Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and practical application in a production environment

·       Experience managing or coordinating safety programs — not just supporting them

·       Familiarity with regulatory agency coordination and compliance recordkeeping

·       Workers' compensation experience strongly preferred

·       Comfortable working on the production floor daily

·       Strong communicator who can influence at all levels
