We are seeking an experienced CNC Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC metal-cutting machines throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. This full-time position offers $35–$45 per hour plus overtime, with primarily regional day travel and occasional overnight stays. Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, align, calibrate, and test CNC metal-cutting machines at customer facilities.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, PLC, and CNC control-related issues.
- Service multi-axis CNC machines, lathes, vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, and grinding machines.
- Troubleshoot CNC controls and equipment, including FANUC, Mazak, Okamoto, or similar platforms.
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize customer downtime.
- Provide on-site training to CNC machine operators and maintenance personnel.
- Complete service reports, parts usage records, and job documentation.
- Communicate with service coordinators, OEM contacts, and customers throughout each service call.
- Maintain company-provided tools, parts inventory, and service equipment.
- Build strong customer relationships through responsive and professional service.
- Travel throughout the regional territory, including occasional overnight stays.
Requirements:
- At least five years of hands-on experience servicing CNC metal-cutting machines.
- Experience with FANUC, Mazak, Okamoto, or comparable CNC machines and controls preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot PLCs, motors, drives, CNC controls, and mechanical systems.
- Associate degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a regional service territory.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware.
- Experience with robotics, pallet changers, or other CNC automation systems preferred.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital service documentation tools.
