Production Supervisor
Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing 2nd Shift operations within a high‑volume manufacturing or processing environment. This role ensures safe, efficient production processes, adherence to quality standards, and effective supervision of production employees. The supervisor is accountable for meeting daily performance targets and ensuring all products meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements. This position reports to the department Superintendent.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support team members in producing quality products that meet established standards.
- Maintain and enforce safety policies in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Provide job‑related training, support job rotation, and promote skill development across the team.
- Communicate effectively to coach employees, address concerns, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and ethical workplace culture.
- Execute production schedules and adjust workflow as needed to meet operational goals.
- Ensure all quality, safety, and processing procedures are followed without compromise.
- Maintain accountability and appropriate discipline to support performance expectations.
- Monitor production results and take timely action to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput.
- Apply problem‑solving techniques, teamwork strategies, and process‑control tools to meet or exceed production targets.
- Oversee workforce scheduling, staffing, and workflow to ensure operational success.
- Conduct or support process audits and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards, and housekeeping expectations.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to maximize facility performance.
- Assist with pre‑operation activities as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or processing environment; food or meat processing experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of USDA, HACCP, or other regulatory/quality systems preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, or odorous environments as required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and significant overtime, including weekends.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to prepare clear, concise reports.

Work Environment
