About the Role

The Attorney will manage a diverse civil and business litigation caseload with approximately 2-3 years of hands-on litigation experience. This attorney should be comfortable appearing in court, conducting and defending depositions, handling pre-litigation matters, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, negotiating settlements, and moving matters through preparation for trial.

 

This is a full-time remote role for an attorney barred in California. The ideal candidate is litigation-ready, responsive, organized, and able to manage matters from early case assessment through discovery, depositions, court appearances, settlement strategy, and trial preparation while collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients.

 

Responsibilities

Litigation & Case Management

Manage civil and business litigation matters with ownership of pre-litigation activity, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement discussions, and trial preparation.

Appear in court for hearings, conferences, motions, case management proceedings, and other litigation matters, virtually or in person as required.

Conduct and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, manage exhibits, and coordinate deposition strategy and follow-up.

Handle pre-litigation matters from intake and factual investigation through demand strategy, negotiations, pleadings, discovery planning, and preparation for trial.

 

Legal Drafting, Research & Analysis

Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, settlement materials, memoranda, and other litigation documents.

Conduct thorough legal research and provide practical, well-reasoned legal analysis and recommendations.

Review documents, evaluate evidence, identify case issues, prepare deposition outlines, and support litigation strategy from pre-suit through trial preparation.

Maintain a strong understanding of applicable laws, rules, procedures, and court requirements relevant to active matters.

 

Client, Team & Technology Collaboration

Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, vendors, and internal team members.

Negotiate settlements and contribute to practical resolution strategies while maintaining readiness to advance matters toward trial when needed.

Leverage legal technology, document management tools, and remote-work systems to support efficient case handling.

Work collaboratively with colleagues while maintaining strong ownership, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Active licensure to practice law in California.

Strong legal writing, drafting, document review, and legal research skills.

2-3 years of civil litigation experience, with civil and business litigation experience highly valued.

Prior court appearance experience, including hearings, conferences, motions, or case management proceedings.

Experience conducting and defending depositions, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and deposition follow-up.

Experience handling pre-litigation matters through factual investigation, demand strategy, pleadings, discovery, settlement discussions, and preparation for trial.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.

Proficiency using technology for legal work, including document management and remote collaboration tools.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

Experience in civil litigation and/or business litigation.

Active licensure in New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Texas, or New Mexico.

Experience managing civil or business litigation matters in a remote, technology-enabled litigation environment.

Comfort working in a full-time remote environment with virtual court appearances and technology-enabled workflows.

 

Pay range and compensation package

Expected base salary range: $130,000-$150,000, depending on experience, licensure, litigation background, and overall fit.

This is a full-time remote role with opportunities for collaboration, professional growth, and continued development within a technology-forward litigation practice.
