Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician (Multiple Openings) – Food Manufacturing
Location: Prattville, AL (On-site)
Pay: $41.50/hour + bonus, plus overnight shift differential

Overview

A large multinational food company has a brand new, highly automated plant in central Alabama and is growing its maintenance team across several shifts. Technicians coming in now get to learn modern systems from the start at an operation that is well funded and built for the long haul. The company wants strong electrical and mechanical techs who own their work and like being part of a team.

What the Job Involves

• Handle preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated production equipment, both electrical and mechanical
• Complete assigned PMs on time and to standard
• Find root causes using structured problem solving such as 5 Whys
• Coach operators on basic equipment care and machine setup
• Help install, commission, and test new equipment on capital projects
• Document work orders and completions in the plant’s ERP system
• Take part in shift start meetings, short interval control, and weekly asset care reviews
• Contribute to line improvement projects
• Hold to safety, environmental, and food safety rules every shift
• Keep work areas clean and organized under 5S

What They Need

• High school diploma or GED; AAS, apprenticeship, or technical certification preferred
• 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing maintenance
• Multi-craft skills on both the electrical and mechanical side
• Able to troubleshoot alone and get to root cause
• Willing to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 plant, including nights
• Good communicator who can coach others
• Keeps safety standards even when the pressure is on
• Open to change and continuous improvement
