POSITION TITLE: Vice President of Sales


SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Vice President of Sales plays a key leadership role in guiding the long‑term success of the organization. This role is responsible for setting and executing the commercial strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth, margin expansion, and long‑term value creation.

As a core member of the executive leadership team, this position provides strategic direction across sales and customer service functions, shaping market strategy, customer engagement, and operational excellence. The role holds full accountability for commercial performance, forecasting, and budget management, while leading and developing senior leaders and high‑performing teams. Cross‑functional collaboration is essential to support continuous improvement, strong governance, and alignment with overall business objectives.

Acting as a steward of the organization, the Vice President is expected to lead with integrity and a long‑term mindset—making decisions that strengthen the company today while protecting its culture, reputation, and continuity for future generations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set and execute enterprise‑level commercial strategies to deliver sustainable revenue growth in private label and branded foodservice and industrial processed fruit and tomato products, margin expansion, and increased contribution from value‑added offerings.
  • Provide executive leadership to the sales department, partnering with Sales Directors and senior leaders to establish long‑term customer strategies, key account plans, and market positioning.
  • Lead market intelligence, demand planning, and sales forecasting processes to support strategic decision‑making and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Assume full accountability for the development, governance, and performance of the departmental budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial discipline.
  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, collaborating across functions to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic transformation initiatives.
  • Provide senior leadership oversight of sales and customer service functions, with emphasis on continuous improvement, talent development, succession planning, organizational design, and performance governance.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all safety, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements, fostering a strong culture of accountability and risk management.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In‑depth knowledge of customer discovery, requirements analysis, compliance regulations, and quality processes.
  • Extensive expertise in processed fruit, tomato, and/or vegetable products, including developing, closing, and expanding high‑volume multinational customers across food, beverage, and ingredient markets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of distribution networks and supply‑chain optimization, including cross‑border trade, freight management, and coordination with production and sourcing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of global customer discovery and value creation, including identifying regional market opportunities, navigating international compliance and food safety regulations, and aligning quality systems with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to operate independently at a senior executive level, delivering superior customer service while driving strategic initiatives across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Strong business acumen and executive leadership, with a demonstrated track record of negotiating and managing key domestic and multinational accounts, influencing C‑suite decision‑makers, and driving sustainable revenue growth in global processed fruit and tomato markets, particularly in foodservice private label and industrial sectors.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Finance, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing sales teams; experience in processed tomato, fruit, and/or vegetable sales preferred.
  • Experience in B2B food sales, food ingredients, broadline food distribution, and agricultural products is highly preferred.
  • Or any equivalent combination of training, experience, and education that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office, warehouse, and industrial manufacturing plant environments with exposure to heat, dust, chemicals, and noise.
  • Ability to work extended schedules during peak processing seasons, including additional hours and weekend work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Travel required: 30–40%.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
