Our client, an international Amlaw 50 firm, is seeking a Talented Privacy Associate to join its highly regarded Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice Group in Washington, D.C. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance matters, advising clients on complex legal and business challenges arising from evolving data protection laws and emerging technologies.

 


 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in Washington, D.C. (or eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar), in good standing
  • 1-3 years of substantive privacy, cybersecurity, or data protection experience
  • Experience advising clients on privacy compliance, data protection, and related regulatory matters
  • Familiarity with U.S. privacy laws and regulations, including state privacy frameworks and federal requirements
  • Exposure to international privacy and data protection laws, including cross-border compliance considerations, is preferred
  • Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills
  • Exceptional written communication abilities with experience preparing client-facing advice and regulatory analyses
  • Comparable law firm experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on privacy compliance, data governance, and data protection requirements across a variety of industries
  • Assist clients with regulatory compliance efforts involving U.S. and international privacy frameworks
  • Conduct privacy and cybersecurity due diligence in connection with corporate and commercial transactions
  • Draft, review, and update privacy policies, data processing agreements, and related compliance documentation
  • Support clients with cybersecurity preparedness, incident response, investigations, and risk-management initiatives
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and provide strategic guidance regarding emerging privacy and cybersecurity requirements
  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas on complex regulatory, transactional, and advisory matters

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $225,000-$260,000 annually, as determined by experience and market factors
