Job Description

  • Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Produce monthly financial statements, dashboards, and insights that help leadership make better business decisions
  • Analyze cash flow, profitability, job costing, and operational performance to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Manage and develop the accounting team, setting priorities, improving accountability, and supporting growth
  • Strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Reconcile and connect financial and operational data across systems to improve reporting visibility
  • Coordinate with outside tax professionals, auditors, banks, and other financial partners as needed
  • Continuously improve systems, reporting, and workflows in a fast-paced service environment

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Prior experience at the Controller level or in a strong Assistant Controller-ready leadership role
  • Experience leading and developing an accounting or finance team
  • Strong ability to interpret financial data and turn it into strategic recommendations
  • Strong general accounting, close process, and financial reporting experience
  • Advanced Excel and strong systems skills
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • ServiceTitan experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Experience in a service, field services, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, construction, or similar operational business preferred
