Superintendent, Heavy Civil / Highway

A large heavy civil contractor with a national footprint and a busy Florida program is hiring a Superintendent for highway, bridge and infrastructure work in the Tampa Bay area.

This is a strong opportunity for a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent or General Superintendent who likes running the field, wants bigger projects, and wants to grow with a contractor that is adding work, not cutting it.

You'll run the field on roadway, bridge, drainage, waterworks and utility projects, much of it FDOT work. Tampa locals are great, and superintendents ready to relocate to Florida are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

·       Run day to day field operations on active heavy civil projects.

·       Lead crews and subcontractors, and set the daily and weekly schedule.

·       Drive production and hold the job to schedule and budget.

·       Own safety on site and keep the crew working safe every day.

·       Manage quality, inspections and punch items to spec.

·       Plan equipment, materials and deliveries.

·       Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors and the owner.

·       Handle maintenance of traffic and work zone setup on roadway jobs.

·       Keep daily reports, quantities and field documentation accurate.

What We're Looking For

·       5+ years running crews as a Superintendent, General Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on heavy civil work.

·       Highway, bridge, roadway, drainage, waterworks or utility experience.

·       Ability to read plans and specs and build the work from them.

·       FDOT project experience is a big plus.

·       Bridge or structures experience is a plus.

·       OSHA 30 and MOT/TTC certification are a plus.

·       Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.

·       Tampa Bay candidates preferred. Superintendents open to relocating to the Tampa area are welcome.
