Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all cooler operations and ensure efficient workflow
- Build and maintain a motivated team of hourly employees and supervisors
- Directly manage cooler department supervisors
- Ensure employee productivity, safety, and compliance with operational standards
- Safeguard product quality and safety throughout the department
- Participate in accurate carcass grading and monitoring shrink percentages
- Maintain strong communication and working relationships with regulatory personnel and internal leadership
- Manage and maintain accurate departmental data, reports, and documentation
- Make informed, data‑driven decisions to support operational goals
- Work a schedule that regularly exceeds 50 hours per week
Qualifications
- Strong English communication skills
- Bilingual abilities preferred but not required
- 6–8 years of proven supervisory experience in beef processing, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to consistently work 50+ hours per week
- Demonstrated people‑management and leadership skills
Working Conditions
- Cold‑temperature work environment
- Frequent exposure to knives, hot water, and production machinery
- Significant physical activity, including extensive walking and stair climbing
- Work environment includes slick floors and high noise levels
- Typical schedule is 50–55 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed
