Harvest Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Harvest Production Supervisor oversees daily operations on the harvest and kill floor. This role is responsible for monitoring production quality, managing line personnel, ensuring strict compliance with food and safety regulations, and maintaining an efficient, cohesive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations & Quality Control: Monitor the slaughter area and evaluate product quality, administering immediate corrective procedures and providing indirect job specification training as needed.

• Personnel & Attendance Management: Coordinate staffing levels to fill vacant or absent positions, manage attendance data using tracking systems, and actively work to minimize turnover.

• Pre-Operational Prep: Conduct pre-operational inspections of the assigned area, oversee the setup of production equipment, and submit maintenance work orders promptly.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce and maintain all food safety and workplace safety regulations, auditing both product integrity and employee safety practices throughout the shift.

• Waste Mitigation: Control operational waste by minimizing products sent to inedible sections and ensuring a clean, sanitary working environment.

• Team Communication: Greet and engage with personnel to foster a collaborative work environment. Conduct monthly line meetings (or as dictated by circumstances) to address department issues, updates, or concerns.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of production experience preferred, with specific knowledge of meat processing and subsequent job specifications.

• Leadership: Strong management, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Language Skills: Bilingual capabilities (specifically Spanish) are preferred but not required.
