Client company is a leading industrial tilt-wall contractor headquartered in Frisco, Texas. With over 70 million square feet delivered across 16 years, the company has established itself as the largest industrial tilt-wall builder in Texas and one of the largest in the United States. Specializing in design-build, negotiated, and GMP delivery for manufacturing, distribution, powered shell, and data center facilities. They maintain a strong reputation for delivering complex projects through collaborative, relationship-driven partnerships.
The company is experiencing significant growth, particularly in the data center sector, with several hundred million dollars of work currently under construction. Peinado is seeking a strategic, results-oriented Vice President of Preconstruction to lead its estimating and preconstruction function and support continued expansion.
Position Overview
Reporting to senior executive leadership, the Vice President of Preconstruction will provide executive oversight of all preconstruction activities, including estimating, budgeting, scope development, and bid strategy. This leader will play a critical role in positioning the company for continued success in a highly competitive industrial and data center market by driving accuracy, process discipline, and strategic pricing decisions.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership and direction for the preconstruction department, ensuring consistent, high-quality deliverables across all pursuits.
  • Oversee the development of detailed estimates, budgets, and proposals for complex industrial, manufacturing, distribution, and data center projects ranging from $10M to multi-hundred-million-dollar programs.
  • Establish and refine preconstruction processes, systems, and best practices to improve accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness.
  • Partner closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership to align preconstruction strategies with operational execution and company growth objectives.
  • Lead the evaluation of project opportunities, risk assessment, and bid strategy development, with particular emphasis on design-build, negotiated, and GMP delivery methods.
  • Mentor and develop estimating and preconstruction talent while building organizational capability for future growth.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients, architects, and subcontractors to support negotiated and design-assist work.
     
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in construction preconstruction or estimating, with significant exposure to industrial, tilt-wall, or data center projects.
  • Proven track record of leading preconstruction efforts on large, complex projects with values exceeding $50M.
  • Strong background in design-build, negotiated, design-assist, and GMP delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
     
Compensation
$200k-$215k Base Salary with significant bonuses on top of base salary.
