About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Welder to join their team in Richmond, IN. This position is responsible for producing high-quality welds and assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works safely, and understands that quality and accountability matter every single shift.

This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG (aluminum) and/or MIG (steel) welding based on production needs

  • Tack-weld and weld components and assemblies using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment

  • Lay out, position, and secure parts according to specifications and blueprints

  • Follow weld and assembly requirements using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions

  • Set up and adjust welding equipment (torch ignition, valves, amperage, voltage) to achieve proper weld quality

  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges to inspect finished parts

  • Maintain welding equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately

  • Maintain strong attendance and reliability standards

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times

  • Take ownership of quality — “do it right the first time” mindset


Qualifications / Requirements

  • 1+ years of TIG (aluminum) or MIG (steel) welding experience or equivalent technical training

  • Successful completion of weld test (CIT or equivalent)

  • Experience operating various welding equipment and procedures

  • Ability to use electrical and manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints

  • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to consistently use protective equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity

  • AWS Welding Certification preferred but not required
