Senior Swiss CNC Specialist – Multi-Axis Lathe Setup & Programming

Up to $26.00/Hour • Central Wisconsin (Juneau County Area) • 100% Onsite • Flexible 4 or 5-Day Work Weeks

The Opportunity: Escape the instability of traditional contract job shops and secure your career with a thriving, highly successful OEM manufacturer. Boasting a consistent 15% annual growth rate and a historic corporate commitment to zero layoffs, this organization operates with a deep "people-first" philosophy. They actively prioritize internal promotions, long-term job security, and continuous technical training on modern machining assets.

  • EXPERIENCE DEPTH: 2+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience specifically focused on multi-axis Swiss CNC setup, operation, and optimization
  • TECHNICAL LITREACY: Proven capability to execute and refine equipment programming, adjust complex tool offsets, and manage end-to-end bar-fed production cycles
  • EARNING POTENTIAL: Up to $26.00 per hour base rate (fully scaling with setup depth and programming familiarity) + Full Corporate Benefits Package
  • SHIFT FLEXIBILITY: Choose the schedule that fits your lifestyle: 1st Shift (8 hours x 5 days) OR 2nd Shift (10 hours x 4 days for a guaranteed 3-day weekend)
  • MACHINING FLEET: Clean, climate-controlled facility utilizing modern multi-axis Swiss technology (the vast majority of the fleet is less than a decade old)
  • LOCATION: Central Wisconsin / Juneau County corridor (Must reside within a dependable daily driving radius of the production plant)
  • COMPLIANCE: United States Citizens or Green Card holders only; corporate visa sponsorship is not available

For a skilled machinist who is tired of the chaotic "feast or famine" cycles of custom contract shops, this direct-hire tracking role is a massive cultural upgrade. Because our client is a proprietary OEM rather than a job shop, their production schedules are highly predictable, organized, and structurally stable. You won’t be constantly stressing about lines running dry or sudden staff reductions.

The work environment is fast-paced, exceptionally clean, and highly collaborative. Instead of just loading parts, you will possess real ownership over your machine cell—optimizing cycle times, troubleshooting complex geometries, and ensuring premium part integrity. Backed by an active corporate growth trajectory and a structured path to step into senior technical or shop leadership roles, this position provides a permanent professional home.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Complex Setups: Performing intricate, multi-axis Swiss CNC lathe setups from scratch to support high-precision, close-tolerance production runs.
  • Program Optimization: Reviewing, executing, and fine-tuning machine programming on the fly to maximize throughput, minimize cycle times, and preserve tool life.
  • End-to-End Control: Managing the full manufacturing cycle of complex components, tracking everything from initial automatic bar-feeder alignment to finished part extraction.
  • Precision Inspection: Conducting strict quality assurance testing on completed pieces using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and depth gauges to achieve 100% drawing compliance.
  • Cell Troubleshooting: Diagnosing mechanical faults, correcting axis deviations, and partnering with maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Shop Excellence: Maintaining a safe, neat work zone in alignment with lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement goals.

What We Are Looking For

  • Swiss Lathe Foundation: A minimum of 2 years of verifiable, hands-on experience setting up and operating specialized Swiss-style CNC machines.
  • Metrology Competency: Exceptional proficiency reading mechanical blueprints and utilizing precision measuring instruments for rigorous first-article and in-process quality tracking.
  • Professional Reliability: A rock-solid, stable employment history that demonstrates consistent attendance, workplace safety, and pride in your craft.
  • Schedule Commitment: The internal drive to work independently and maintain high productivity across an 8-hour first shift or a 10-hour second shift.
  • Strong Pluses: Direct past familiarity with Citizen, Star, or Tsugami machine platforms, or a manufacturing background handling high-precision medical, aerospace, or specialized industrial components.
