Sales Manager, Food Ingredients

Sales Manager, Food Ingredients Details:
• Competitive Salary: up to $170,000 (depending on experience)
• Schedule: Full-time, permanent
• Location: On-site
• 15% travel required (6-8 weeks/year)

Sales Manager, Food Ingredients Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute sales strategies across North America aligned with corporate growth objectives
• Identify new markets, customer segments, and product opportunities to drive profitable revenue growth
• Own national forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking against targets
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and strategic partners
• Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and long-term commercial agreements
• Act as the senior escalation point for key customer issues and commercial risk management
• Lead, coach, and develop regional sales leaders and teams across multiple markets
• Establish KPIs, performance metrics, and accountability structures across the sales organization
• Foster a high-performance, results-driven culture with strong cross-regional collaboration
• Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and R&D to align sales commitments with production capacity and service levels
• Partner with Marketing and Product teams on go-to-market strategies and product innovation
• Provide market intelligence and customer insights to support business decisions and growth initiatives
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical business practices
• Manage commercial risk including contracts, pricing governance, and customer concentration
Sales Manager, Food Ingredients Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within food manufacturing, food ingredients, or FMCG environments (sugar, coffee, or commodities strongly preferred)
• Proven experience managing multi-region sales operations across North America
• Strong leadership experience in complex, matrixed organizations
• Demonstrated success in pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and margin management
• Advanced commercial acumen with the ability to drive growth and profitability
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills at the executive level
• Highly organized, strategic thinker with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
• MBA or advanced business qualification
• Experience working with retail, foodservice, or industrial customer segments
• Exposure to export-driven, or family-owned manufacturing environments
