Production Lead Hand

• Starting Wage: $24.00/hour
• Location: Etobicoke, ON
• Day shift is 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, and Afternoon shift is 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm.
• Afternoon Shift Premium: Additional $1.00/hour for every hour worked
• Direct-hire, permanent position
• Benefits after 3 months
• Overtime available/required based on operational needs

• The Lead Hand will be responsible for overseeing a production line which typically has anywhere from 10–20 employees
• Lead and coordinate daily production activities to ensure the line operates safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
• Provide direction and support to production employees throughout the shift.
• Communicate production requirements to the team and escalate concerns to the Supervisor when required.
• Ensure production targets, customer specifications, food safety, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
• Coordinate employees and raw materials to support efficient production flow.
• Use a motorized walkie to transport raw materials from cooler/freezer locations into production areas.
• Assist with production setup, including moving, de-boxing, unwrapping, and preparing meat and raw materials.
• Operate production equipment and complete basic troubleshooting and adjustments.
• Identify equipment concerns and coordinate with Maintenance when additional support is required.
• Follow established SOPs, GMPs, Food Safety, FSQA, Health & Safety, and operational procedures.
• Support employee training and cross-training, including Safety and Quality requirements.
• Monitor production throughout the shift and step into hands-on production activities when needed.
• Maintain strong housekeeping and organization throughout assigned work areas.
• Help create a positive, accountable, and productive team environment.
• Adapt to changing production requirements while keeping employees organized and production moving.

• 2+ years of experience within a similar food production or manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience as a Lead Hand, Team Lead, or in another frontline leadership capacity is strongly preferred.
• Strong Machine Operators with 2+ years of experience who have acted as a Team Lead or backup Lead Hand will also be considered.
• Experience with meat cutting, forming, packaging, or similar production machinery is preferred.
• Butchery or meat-cutting experience is considered an asset.
• Good understanding of food safety, GMPs, and food manufacturing requirements.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide clear direction and hold employees accountable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete basic equipment troubleshooting.
• Organized and able to coordinate multiple production activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable taking ownership of production requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
• Comfortable working independently while leading and supporting a diverse production team.
• Basic computer proficiency, including email and production/labeling systems.
• High School Diploma or GED.

• Ability to safely lift up to 25 kg / 55 lbs.
• Comfortable with constant standing, frequent walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated production areas of approximately -1°C to +4°C.
• Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
• Required to wear appropriate PPE, including steel-toed safety footwear and other required protective equipment.
• Flexibility to work overtime when required based on production demands.
