KIT Recruitment is partnered with a well-established North American producer and marketer of premium grass-fed proteins. We are looking for a Commercial Strategy Manager to support the company’s continued transition to a demand-led, market-focused growth model across Canada and the United States.
This newly created position sits at the intersection of Marketing, Sales, customer relationships, and commercial intelligence. The successful candidate will translate consumer, shopper, and category data into clear tools and recommendations that help Sales perform more effectively, strengthen private-label partnerships, and identify growth opportunities ahead of competitors.
Commercial Strategy Manager Details:
- Competitive Salary up to $130,000
- Hybrid: 3 days in-office (Etobicoke), 2 days work from home

Commercial Strategy Manager Responsibilities:
- Translate Circana, Nielsen, retailer POS and consumer data into clear, actionable commercial recommendations.
- Build customer-specific insights and sales materials for key account meetings, category reviews and Joint Business Planning.
- Monitor performance across brands, products and key accounts, identifying trends, challenges and recommended actions.
- Identify growth opportunities, emerging consumer segments and market gaps across retail and foodservice channels.
- Use category, consumer and shopper insights to support private-label growth, new product introductions and promotional investments.
- Partner with retail customers to position the organization as a category growth partner—not simply a supplier.
- Lead the North American consumer insights strategy, supporting brand development, sales programs and innovation.
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams across Canada and the United States to improve customer strategies and commercial negotiations.
- Contribute insight-driven recommendations to annual marketing and commercial planning.
- Develop repeatable tools and reporting systems that improve commercial decision-making across the organization.
Commercial Strategy Manager Qualifications:
- 6–8 years of commercial strategy, consumer insights or category management experience within the CPG, food or protein industries.
- Experience supporting both sales and marketing strategies.
- Proficiency with syndicated data platforms such as Circana, Nielsen, Homescan or Numerator.
- Proven ability to turn market and consumer data into clear recommendations that deliver measurable business results.
- Experience working directly with retail or foodservice customers.
- Strong commercial understanding of revenue, margins, customer value and buyer expectations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for customers, sales teams and senior leaders.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to build alignment across departments.
- Private-label experience and knowledge of both Canadian and U.S. retail markets are considered strong assets.
