KIT Recruitment is excited to partner with a new food manufacturing client in London, Ontario to recruit a licensed Electrician to join their maintenance team.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced 309A or 442A Electrician who enjoys working directly with production equipment, solving electrical and mechanical issues, and keeping a busy manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently.
As part of the plant maintenance team, the Electrician will provide hands-on support across the facility, responding to equipment issues, completing preventative maintenance, supporting installations and improvement projects, and working closely with Production and other skilled trades to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Electrician – Position Details

Wage: $45.94/hour, increasing to $48.86/hour once Class B Refrigeration Operator License is obtained

Shift: 12-hour continental rotation – 2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights

Hours: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM / 6:00 PM–6:00 AM

Electrician – Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues affecting production machinery, equipment, and plant systems.

Respond to equipment breakdowns and work efficiently to restore operations and reduce production downtime.

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and complete assigned maintenance work orders.

Identify recurring equipment problems, determine root causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.

Support the installation, modification, and improvement of electrical equipment and production systems.

Inspect equipment and identify potential failures or maintenance concerns before they impact production.

Work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, and other skilled trades to coordinate repairs and plant projects.

Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall plant performance.

Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical components within the maintenance shop as required.

Accurately document completed maintenance work, equipment issues, repairs, and other required information.

Follow all applicable electrical, workplace safety, food safety, and quality procedures.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe maintenance and work areas.

Provide additional maintenance coverage for projects, production requirements, audits, and overtime when required.
Electrician – Qualifications

Valid Construction Electrician (309A) or Industrial Electrician (442A) licence required.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing environment is an asset.

Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.

Solid mechanical aptitude and ability to work effectively with complex production equipment and systems.

Experience performing preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and safe electrical practices.
-
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
-
Dependable, proactive, and comfortable prioritizing multiple maintenance requirements in a production environment.

Willingness to obtain a Class B Refrigeration Operator License with support provided in-house.
-
Millwright license is considered a strong asset.
