KIT Recruitment has partnered with a high-performing food manufacturing organization to hire a Controller to join their growing Sr. leadership team. 

 

This is a key finance leadership role responsible for overseeing the full accounting function while supporting operational decision-making inside a fast-moving manufacturing environment. The Controller will lead accounting operations, ensure financial accuracy and compliance, and provide the financial insight that helps plant leadership drive performance and cost efficiency. 

 

Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will play a critical role in translating financial data into actionable operational insight — supporting budgeting, cost control, and strategic planning across the manufacturing facility. 

 

Controller – Details 

• Salary: $115K-$130K based on experience
• Bonus: Up to 10% 
Benefits from Day 1 
3 Weeks Vacation

Controller - Responsibilities 

• Oversee the full accounting function including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost accounting 
• Manage month-end and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting 
• Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports 
• Monitor financial performance and present results to plant leadership, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions 
• Develop and maintain internal controls, compliance processes, and audit readiness 
• Lead and coordinate external audits and internal financial reviews 
• Manage cash flow reporting and financial risk monitoring 
• Track inventory valuation, production costing, and cost variance analysis within the manufacturing environment 
• Partner with operations teams to analyze COGS, logistics, and production costs 
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning for plant manufacturing, maintenance, and overhead costs 
• Conduct financial analysis and feasibility studies for capital projects and cost reduction initiatives 
• Provide ongoing financial insights to support plant leadership and operational decision-making 

 

Controller – Qualifications  

CPA designation required 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
 3-5 years of accounting experience within food & beverage or manufacturing environments a strong asset.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost structures, inventory valuation, and standard costing 
• Experience supporting plant financial operations and production cost tracking 
• Advanced Excel skills required 
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems preferred 
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills 
• Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and plant leadership teams
