KIT Recruitment is continuing our successful partnership with a leading client in the agricultural and farming industry. We are currently hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for their production facility in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.

The Maintenance Mechanic will help ensure the reliable operation of machinery and mechanical systems throughout the facility. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and supporting production equipment to minimize downtime.

 

Maintenance Mechanic Details

·        Monday to Friday
·        $29.00–$36.00 per hour
·        Schedule: Full-time, permanent
·        Location: North Battleford (on-site)
·        Vacation: Paid time off

 

Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities

·        Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, motors, conveyor systems, and production equipment.
·        Troubleshoot mechanical issues by inspecting equipment, listening for irregular sounds, and using testing tools.
·        Disassemble and reassemble machinery to repair or replace faulty components.
·        Monitor plant equipment and new installations to ensure reliable operation and reduce downtime.
·        Complete equipment repairs, welding, and metalworking using drills, presses, grinders, and other tools.
·        Work with production teams to schedule maintenance and minimize operational disruptions.
·        Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
·        Provide regular updates to management regarding maintenance progress, equipment condition, and production concerns.
·        Respond to urgent maintenance issues outside regular working hours when required.
·        Follow all company health and safety policies, including HACCP, GMP, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
·        Assist with additional duties and special projects as needed.

 

Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications

·        Three to five years of experience in a maintenance or technician role, preferably within a processing plant, grain facility, agricultural operation, or similar environment.
·        Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting plant machinery and production equipment.
·        Welding, electrical, and motor repair experience is considered an asset.
·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
·        Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
·        Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
·        Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive.
·        Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
