Registered Nurse
Job Summary
Chloeta is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in the ambulatory care section of the Albuquerque, NM Indian Health Center. The employee may work as needed at the Santa Ana Health Center in Bernalillo, NM or the Zia Health and Dental Clinic in Zia Pueblo, NM.
The facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC) and participates in several initiatives including: Improving Patient Care (IPC), Model Diabetes Program, Patient-Centered Medical Home, and Integrated Behavioral Health. The facility is staffed by 47 physicians covering 19 specialty areas of medicine.
Work Shift: 8 hours – usually 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, except all Federal Holidays. Albuquerque has an evening clinic on Wednesdays from 1230 pm to 9 pm. The hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 7 am- 530 pm.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide compassionate care to patients in various settings to enhance their quality of life.

Perform various nursing duties such as examining patients, collecting specimens, and appropriately processing varying medical concerns.

Support vaccine clinics and support efforts to identify and isolate infectious patients.

Provide necessary services in support of the facility’s effort to follow all applicable CLIA, CMS, and accrediting body regulations.

Participate in community interventions to include participating in case identification and treatment of communicable disease; participating in surveillance for community health trends and status; public health education including providing health education to individuals, families, and community groups in various settings.

Provide appropriate follow-up as directed or per established guidelines.

Observe and abide by all policies and procedures, bylaws, rules, and regulations of stationed unit.

Provide direct patient care services at the Emergency Department, Inpatient/Outpatient Department, Car Clinics, Public Health Nursing Program field, rural patient residence/homes, community vaccination clinics in rural communities, and/or other healthcare service locations as/if needed.

Use the nursing process as a framework to determine the delivery of nursing care/services in accordance with departmental practice standards.

Perform clinical procedures, intravenous access, and phlebotomy, point of care laboratory testing, IVIG infusions, EKG, SVN Respiratory Treatments and response to emergency codes.

Maintain the dignity and worth of individuals, respects cultural, spiritual, and psychosocial differences and applies philosophical and ethical concepts that promote quality and continuity of care. Demonstrate continual cultural awareness and focus on customer service while adhering to the Code of Ethics and Federal Code of Conduct.

Education and Experience:

Required: Possess thirty-six (36) months of nursing experience, with a minimum of twelve months (12) in the specialty.

Required: Possess bachelor's degree in nursing through an accredited program in the U.S.A.

Required: Possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract. License verification must be provided at the time of application.

Required: Maintain valid and current certification and provide proof at the time of application in the following: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS).

Required: Possess and maintain a current driver's license or ID in any state.

Required: Provide three (3) professional references at the time of application.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to withstand physical and emotional stress.

Must be able to stand and move for long periods of time.

Able to frequently lift at least 50 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.

At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others.

At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.
