Job Summary 

Chloeta is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Hydrologic Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions to help our clients manage their water resources effectively and efficiently.  

 

Job Classification: 1099 Independent Subcontractor 

Duty Station: Remote/Virtual with potential travel required 

 

Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic studies, including the analysis of data and preparation of reports 

  • Develop and implement water resource management plans, floodplain management plans, and stormwater management plans 

  • Design and oversee the construction of water management infrastructure projects, including stormwater management systems, floodplain mapping, and floodplain modeling 

  • Perform quality control and quality assurance checks on project deliverables 

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, clients, and stakeholders 

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and regulations related to water management 

  • Prepare project cost estimates, schedules, and proposals 

 

Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software. 

  • Expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing techniques. 

  • Strong project management and leadership skills. 

  • Experience in grant writing and securing funding for projects. 

  • Knowledge of climate change impacts water resources. 

  • Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles and methodologies 

  • Experience with computer modeling and simulation software, including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and ArcGIS 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with clients and stakeholders 

  • Passion for sustainability and water resource management 

 

Education and Experience 

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering or related field 

  • Required: Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in the field of hydrologic engineering 

  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering or related field 

  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license
