As an Area Supervisor, you will oversee production activities, coordinate scheduling and inventory, and lead a team to deliver high-quality products on time. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and other departments to resolve issues, improve processes, and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
  • Supervise and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure safe, efficient production and on-time shipment of quality products
  • Lead, train, and support team members, including interviewing, hiring, and performance management
  • Develop work schedules, assign tasks, and manage workflow to meet production demands
  • Perform production scheduling and inventory management, working closely with MRP Controllers
  • Collaborate with engineering to coordinate change orders and ensure accurate implementation
  • Monitor and support quality procedures, including inspection documentation and engineering deviations
  • Resolve product, quality, and customer-related issues in collaboration with internal teams and vendors
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct monthly department safety inspections
  • Maintain a working knowledge of SAP and support system utilization
  • Create and maintain written procedures and work instructions
  • Plan material flow, labor, equipment, and floor space to optimize efficiency and meet production goals
  • Analyze and resolve operational issues, supporting team members as needed
  • Recommend and implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
  • Coordinate staffing levels and overtime to meet changing production needs
  • Support and sustain Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive cross-training to enhance workforce flexibility and efficiency
  • Maintain departmental organization, cleanliness, and adherence to 5S standards
  • Uphold Quality and EHS policies, as well as organizational core values
  • Act as a working supervisor when necessary to support team operations 

Supervisory Responsibilities
 
  • May supervise 0–20 employees
  • Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned areas
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include hiring, training, assigning work, performance evaluation, discipline, and conflict resolution 

Qualifications
  • Experience working in an ISO-certified quality environment
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
  • Experience creating written procedures and instructions
  • Ability to actively resolve customer product issues 
  • Experience with production and inventory scheduling
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) required
  • Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred

Education and Experience
 
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
