This position supports temporary lighting projects across the United States and occasionally abroad. The role involves operating and maintaining mobile lighting equipment, performing field service work, and coordinating on-site project activities. Extensive travel is required, approximately 220 to 240 days per year, with some workdays based in Iowa.
 
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
  • Drive and operate mobile lighting equipment at temporary lighting projects, including crane trucks, generators, forklifts, man lifts, all-terrain forklifts, and rental vehicles.
  • Perform field service tasks, including working in aerial lifts, climbing poles, and operating equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of equipment and lighting products.
  • Coordinate project timelines with customers, vendors, equipment providers, and crew resources.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Field Logistics Manager regarding daily duties and scheduling.
  • Provide detailed written field reports and complete required documentation within one week of project completion or assignment.
  • Provide onsite leadership to crew members and coordinate with vendors and customers when assigned project management responsibilities.
  • Make sound daily decisions related to project expenses.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • Basic electrical and mechanical experience or aptitude preferred.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot communication issues over the phone as directed.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong personal initiative.
  • Basic computer, email, and internet skills for receiving instructions and submitting reports.
  • Ability to learn internal communication systems.
  • Ability to comply with DOT rules and regulations and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (assistance can be provided to obtain training/licensing).
Additional Requirements:
  • Weekend and holiday work is common.
  • Long and irregular work hours may be required.
  • Ability to service lighting poles or structures between 40 and 120 feet using aerial lifts or approved climbing/fall-protection equipment; in rare cases, heights over 120 feet may be required.
