This position serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, development, specification, implementation, documentation, and support of electrical and control systems for mobile and stationary volumetric proportioning mixing equipment. The role owns both hardware and software aspects of machine controls, including low- and high-voltage power systems for DC and AC electrical systems, embedded and PLC-based programming control architectures, and safety-critical designs.

This position acts as the technical authority for electrical and controls engineering, leading system architecture decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (including ISO, ASTM, CE, NEC, and UL 508A), and providing mentorship and guidance to engineers and cross-functional teams. The Sr. Electrical and Control Engineer plays a key role in advancing product innovation, reliability, manufacturability, and capability while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties: 
Including but not limited to: 
  • Lead the design and development of electrical and control systems for industrial equipment, including schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, communications, motor controls, and system architectures.
  • Design and integrate power distribution systems including 12VDC, 24VDC, single-phase AC, and three-phase AC systems up to 575VAC.
  • Create and review technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems to ensure installations and operations meet standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and support control system software, primarily using CoDeSys, for machine operation, automation, diagnostics, and safety functions.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to complete engineering tasks and system development.
  • Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
  • Develop budgets and estimates, including labor, materials, and construction costs for new or modified equipment.
  • Conduct setup and testing of new design systems to verify functional and operational acceptance.
  • Compile data and prepare reports related to engineering studies, equipment performance, and potential system improvements.
  • Manage entry of parts and Bills of Materials (BOM) into the ERP system.
  • Serve as the UL 508A technical owner, ensuring designs, documentation, and manufacturing processes meet certification requirements and supporting audits and inspections.
  • Provide technical leadership for electrical and controls engineering, including design reviews, technical direction, and resolution of complex issues.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, sales, manufacturing, quality, and service teams to ensure effective system integration and product support.
  • Establish and maintain electrical design standards, best practices, and documentation requirements across projects and products.
  • Support new product development from concept through release, including prototyping, validation testing, and design for manufacturability.
  • Evaluate and select electrical components, control hardware, and suppliers to meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, control, and software issues during development, production, and field operation.
  • Provide technical support for service teams, including diagnostics assistance and root-cause analysis for field issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Electronics, or Controls Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related engineering field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and control engineering principles.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience developing control systems for industrial or mobile machinery.
  • Experience designing AC control systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with CoDeSys programming and graphical user interface development for control systems.
