This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting, human resources, and information technology functions of the organization. The Controller will lead financial operations, maintain internal controls, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and provide leadership across accounting, HR, and IT teams. This role reports directly to the President/CEO.
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
- Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and improve accounting procedures, systems, and internal controls to minimize risk and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Manage the production of financial reports and ensure compliance with accounting principles and reporting standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide required financial documentation and support during audits.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Provide financial analysis related to capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations as requested or required.
- Oversee accounting systems and financial processes while maintaining strong internal controls and low operational risk.
- Lead and manage personnel within the accounting, human resources, and information technology departments.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations, provide coaching and leadership support, and address employee performance or disciplinary matters as needed.
- Communicate effectively across departments while working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum of 5 years of combined accounting and leadership experience.
- Experience or working knowledge in Human Resources and Information Technology functions required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting practices.
- Proven record of improving financial performance and operational results.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, provide constructive feedback, and manage cross-functional teams effectively.
