This position is responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as frames, stands, reels, shafts, and other parts. The role ensures quality and safety standards are met, follows blueprints, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
 
  • Select, set up, and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, and torch) to assemble parts.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together per blueprints.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Assemble parts by bolting, riveting, and welding as required.
  • Cut metal parts to print specifications using acetylene/plasma arc equipment.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure final products meet specifications and communicate any corrections to appropriate departments.
  • Follow work order process sheets and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain and sustain 5S in the department and support EHS policies.
  • Use hand and power tools (grinders, wrenches, impacts, etc.) as required.
  • Uphold organizational Core Values and perform additional duties as assigned.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • 2–5 years of experience with MIG and TIG welding in a fabrication environment.
  • Aluminum and stainless steel TIG welding experience required.
  • Welding certification preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Quality-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Welding certification or technical degree preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, and diagram instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate area, circumference, volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
 
Education and Experience:
 
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or 2–5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
