Senior Industrial Wastewater Operator (NJ Industrial Wastewater Operators License N3/N4)

Location: Morris County, NJ

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Wastewater Operator to join our team for large-scale projects in northern and central NJ. This role requires a New Jersey Industrial Wastewater Operator License (N3/N4 or equivalent) and a strong background in industrial wastewater operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure personal safety and comply with all site safety requirements.
• Maintain performance and compliance of treatment systems according to permit standards.
• Engage with client organizations, including engineering departments and site managers.
• Train and lead operations and maintenance staff; oversee subcontractors and vendors when necessary.
• Utilize computer-based maintenance programs and prepare reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Lead troubleshooting and emergency response efforts effectively.
• Prepare and submit Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) as required.
• Record operational data and monitor process equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collect and oversee sampling of process and groundwater for testing.
• Perform preventive maintenance using hand tools, power tools, and precision equipment.
• Adjust dosing of process chemicals using mixers, pumps, and metering devices.
• Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies across various facilities.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial wastewater operations.
• Proficient in preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Strong understanding of physical and chemical treatment processes; experience with biological systems is a plus.
• OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper certificate/8-hour refresher preferred.
• Flexible work schedule with availability for overtime and weekend shifts.
• Reliable transportation is essential.
• Physical ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and manual dexterity.
