General Manager, Calibration & Testing Laboratory
Location: Fort Wayne, IN (onsite leadership role)
Compensation: Competitive base + annual bonus

Maverick Search Partners is working with a national leader in testing, inspection, certification and calibration services to hire a General Manager for its Fort Wayne operation. The company serves manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, medical and defense clients from locations across the U.S., and it’s growing.

This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role. You’ll have full P&L ownership and lead a team of about 25 technical professionals, reporting to the Regional Calibration Director. You’ll build a high-performing team, improve operational and financial results, and grow the customer base, with regional and corporate resources behind you.

What you’ll do

• Own the full P&L for the location, including annual planning, budgeting, forecasting and expense management
• Lead, coach and develop the technical team through goal-setting, training, career development and succession planning
• Build a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement and technical excellence
• Partner with the corporate sales team to grow existing accounts and win new ones
• Assess staffing, capacity and space needs and plan for growth
• Work with Quality to maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and resolve customer issues with corrective actions that stick
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, IT, Safety and Legal in a matrixed environment
• Serve as the local face of the business with customers and in the industry

What you bring

• 8+ years in calibration, including 3+ years in management
• 3+ years of P&L responsibility (multi-site experience a plus)
• Hands-on ability to perform electrical, dimensional, temperature, pressure and mechanical calibrations
• Experience in a growth-oriented business
• A track record of building and unifying high-performing teams and leading continuous improvement
• Strong customer relationship skills and a results-driven, confident leadership style
• Military calibration background (PMEL, METCAL, TMDE) is a big plus
• An Associate’s in Industrial Technology, a Bachelor’s in Engineering, or a related degree is preferred but not required
• Up to 25% travel and a valid driver’s license
