JOB SUMMARY

The Production Control Manager is responsible for the day-to-day and weekly tactical planning, scheduling, and tracking of material flow throughout the manufacturing cycle. This role ensures total alignment with critical delivery dates, output quality, production volume, cost objectives, and shop resource optimization. Operating as a critical link between strategy and execution, the manager implements monitoring tools to proactively identify waste, inefficiencies, and inventory risks. This position functions primarily as an individual contributor with the potential for one direct report, playing a key role in operational continuity and long-term succession planning.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tactical Planning & Leadership Collaboration - The Production Control Manager manages day-to-day and weekly production schedules to achieve strict volume and cost targets. In this capacity, the manager collaborates closely with executive leadership to align operational capacity with corporate strategies and leads daily cross-functional team meetings to keep shop personnel synced. The role demands an absolute ownership mindset—taking planning tasks from initial conception through to final execution on the shop floor while maintaining clear performance tracking metrics.
  • Resource Allocation & Process Monitoring - A core focus of this position is overseeing production scheduling workflows and developing precise methods to allocate and control raw forging resources. The manager establishes robust monitoring tools to detect process bottlenecks, manage real-time inventory levels, and mitigate supply risks. Through continuous improvement practices, the manager regularly recommends updates to production technologies and shop floor planning methodologies to lean out operations.
  •  Stakeholder Collaboration & System Optimization - The position serves as a primary collaborative bridge between internal department heads, engineering teams, and external vendor partners to optimize overall manufacturing methodologies and synchronize delivery goals. By applying extensive knowledge of production control functions, the manager leverages ERP software to streamline data, drive visibility, and ensure operational workflows remain tightly aligned with corporate strategies.
  • Budget Management & Operational Continuity - The manager takes direct ownership of the department's budget management, closely monitoring material allocations, labor hours, and operational expenditures to ensure all scheduling milestones are achieved cost-effectively. This responsibility includes identifying cost-saving opportunities on the shop floor while balancing spending against approved fiscal targets. Additionally, this role builds long-term operational succession plans to support sustained business growth.
