Test Lab Technician

Industry leading pump manufacturer is hiring for a Test Lab Technician to assist in testing skid mounted centrifugal pump packages. This contract-to-hire opportunity will support the Test Lab Operator to run various tests (ex: vibration, flow rate, etc.) to ensure pumps are fabricated and assembled to proper engineering specifications. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Assembly and installation of API compliant centrifugal pumps on test stand
• Flexible and rigid joint pipe assembly and installation up to 36" diameter
• Connection of ANSI class 150# - 2500# flanges
• Mechanical shaft alignment via optical laser alignment tool
• Electric motor power connections up to 4160V
• API mechanical seal flush plan installation
• Daily operation of flow control valves (butterfly, gate, globe)
• Routine maintenance of shop tools and equipment
• Daily overhead crane operation
• Daily heavy equipment operation
• Technicians will be working in the testing area assisting engineers with the assembly and disassembly of pumps to testing equipment 
• Working with test engineers to troubleshoot to a root cause any failures during testing process
• Utilize hand tools, power tools,  micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc to ensure pumps are installed accurately
• Assist in any other duties needed or required at the facility. 

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 1 years experience in the oil and gas industry
• Possesses a skill set in fabrication including oxygen/acetylene cutting, MIG and Arc welding
• Is capable of operating overhead cranes/heavy machinery
• Has experience with mechanical shaft alignment
• Has experience with electrical wiring/controls
