Excellent opportunity for a manual machinist or manual machinist trainee with a major industrial pump manufacturer at their Shreveport Service facility. Positions open on day shift (7am - 3:30pm), and candidates must be able to work overtime, weekends, and extended schedules as needed or required. Position will be responsible for machining parts needed to repair, rebuild, or remanufacture centrifugal pumps - ex: bearings, bearing houses, shafts, impellers, casings, flanges, etc.
Experienced candidates will have a minimum of 3 years experience setting up, running, and maintaining manual lathes, mills, and radial drill machines.

- Must be able operate horizontal line-boring mill machines
- Hold standard machining tolerance .001" +/- .0005"
- Experienced in machining 300 and 400 series stainless steel and heat treated carbon material (200 to 450 BHN)
- Pump manufacturing or rotating equipment repair shop experience a plus
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Be able to proficiently use precision measurement tools
Trainee level candidates will have a minimum of 1+ years experience in a machine shop, manufacturing facility, or vocational schooling experience.
- Strong math and problem solving capabilities
- Machine operating, machinists training, or vocational school machinist training experience is a plus
- Proficient using hand tools, and measuring devices
- Willingness to learn under the direction of an experience machinist
- Experience reading blueprints, shop drawings, or engineered designs is a plus
Additional Information:
Physical Demand: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
