We are seeking a strategic Director of Perioperative Services to lead the clinical, operational, and fiscal performance of our surgical units. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for executing long-term strategies, ensuring excellence in patient care, and maintaining accountability for quality, safety, and staffing across the campus.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will mentor clinical managers, champion evidence-based leadership, and foster a collaborative environment between nursing staff and physicians to drive the hospital’s mission of clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and operationalize long-term plans aligned with organizational goals; communicate priorities and provide course corrections to ensure departmental success.

Operational Oversight: Lead multiple teams and departments, ensuring results meet functional objectives and resource availability.

Financial Stewardship: Establish and justify departmental budgets; hold leadership accountable for achieving financial targets and efficient resource utilization.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee Performance Improvement (PI) facilitation and maintain constant regulatory readiness.

Relationship Management: Act as a primary liaison for physician relations, resolve staff/patient grievances, and engage in cross-functional solution development.

Professional Development: Mentor the leadership team in personnel management and change initiatives; oversee staff educational programs and encourage evidence-based practice.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is highly preferred.

Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Texas.

Certification: Current AHA BLS certification.

Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of nursing management experience (at the Manager level or above).

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in surgical nursing.

Skills: Strong clinical acumen, budget management, and the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and medical staff.
