3 & 5 Axis Milling Machinist - Colorado Springs, CO

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 3 and 5 Axis Milling Machinist to join our dynamic team in Colorado Springs. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for the precise setup, operation, and maintenance of advanced 3 and 5 axis milling machines. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components will directly contribute to our success.

Responsibilities:

Expertly set up and operate 3 and 5 axis milling machines to produce precision parts according to stringent specifications.
Accurately interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to ensure precise machining.
Conduct thorough inspections of finished products utilizing a variety of precision measurement tools to verify adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Collaborate effectively with engineers and other team members to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree, military training, or certification in machining or a related field is highly preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating both 3 and 5 axis milling machines.
Proven experience working with tight tolerances and producing precision parts.
Solid understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Demonstrated proficiency in using various metrology and measuring tools.
Comprehensive knowledge of machining principles, techniques, and best practices.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
Strong ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

Desired Experience:

Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation.
Familiarity with tool grinding processes and techniques.
Experience operating Swiss-style lathes.
Proficiency in using advanced metrology equipment, such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods while operating machinery.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise machine operation and handling of small parts.
