A premier North American financial institution is seeking an accomplished Director to join its Global Financial Institutions Group (FIG). This is a high-visibility, dual-function role designed for a seasoned professional who excels in both Relationship Management and Credit Portfolio Management within the Insurance sector.
The successful candidate will manage a global platform with a dominant leadership position in the US and Canadian markets, overseeing a diverse portfolio across Life, Non-Life, and Distribution sub-segments in North America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
Key Responsibilities

Relationship & Origination: Cultivate and expand a portfolio of new and existing insurance clients. Identify opportunities to cross-sell the bank’s full suite of financial solutions (Lending, Trade Finance, Cash Management, and Trading).

Deal Leadership: Lead the end-to-end deal lifecycle, from creating professional pitch books and presenting to C-suite influencers to negotiating and structuring complex lending transactions.

Credit & Underwriting: Execute deep-dive credit due diligence and risk adjudication. You will be responsible for the accuracy of financial models, credit applications, and technical analyses.

Strategic Advisory: Act as a subject matter expert on insurance industry trends and regulatory changes, providing data-driven insights to help clients and internal stakeholders navigate market shifts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sector coverage and product teams to maximize insurance sector penetration and ensure high-tier client service.
Candidate Requirements (Must-Haves)

Experience: 10+ years of direct experience in Corporate Banking specifically focused on the Insurance sector.

Technical Proficiency: * Proven track record in negotiating and structuring complex lending transactions.

Expert-level knowledge of lending and portfolio management policies.

High proficiency in financial computer applications and database management tools.

Education: * Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting with high academic achievement.

MBA, CFA, or equivalent professional background in financial services, accounting, or legal fields is strongly preferred.
