Compensation: $435,000 annually
Job Type: Full-Time | 7-On / 7-Off (Tuesday – Monday) | "Round and Go" Flexibility
Location: Mattoon, Illinois
We have partnered closely with a premier regional healthcare facility to recruit a full-time, Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) Neuro-Hospitalist. This inpatient-only position offers an exceptional quality of life, featuring a highly desirable 7-on/7-off scheduling cadence, night-time telemedicine support, and a highly manageable, low-census clinical pace. Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated inpatient neurological consultations and acute care management within a stroke-ready community hospital facility.
- Lead inpatient neuro-hospitalist services as the solo on-duty provider during your scheduled block, managing a highly comfortable and consistently low patient census.
- Provide Emergency Department coverage and consultations during daytime hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Utilize a flexible "round and go" clinical model, allowing you to leave campus once daily rounds are complete, remaining available to return in person for acute presentations until 7:00 PM.
- Benefit from seamless continuity of care with a dedicated night-time teleneurology service that completely covers all inpatient and ER needs from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely electronic medical records for all inpatient admissions, daily rounding, and consultations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
- Successful completion of an accredited Neurology Residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Neurology
- Active, unrestricted Illinois state medical license (or immediate eligibility to obtain)
- Valid DEA registration
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently as the primary inpatient specialist during active shift blocks
