We have partnered closely with a prominent healthcare system in Montana to secure a dynamic clinical leader for their acute care and emergency services division. We are currently seeking an experienced Acute Care & Emergency Department Clinical Supervisor to foster an integrated nursing team approach and oversee staff development in Great Falls, Montana.
In this dual-impact leadership role, you will work directly with the Department Director to guide nursing staff through education, competencies, performance evaluations, and quality/safety initiatives. In addition to administrative oversight—such as scheduling, huddles, and compliance tracking—you will provide hands-on bedside support during peak census or acuity surges across Med/Surg, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Emergency settings.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Department Director to lead, organize, and direct daily operations across the Acute Care (Med/Surg) and Emergency Departments.
- Drive staff development, departmental competencies, onboarding, educational events, and annual evaluations to help nursing and care teams reach their full professional potential.
- Manage departmental scheduling, timecard edits, interviewing, quality data collection, incident report tracking, sick call logs, and daily team huddles.
- Step in to assist with direct floor care across Med/Surg, Pediatric, Geriatric, and ED patient populations when patient volume or acuity exceeds scheduled staffing levels.
- Provide clear operational direction to Charge Nurses, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Ward Clerks, and Technicians while collaborating closely with House Supervisors, Physicians, Mid-Level Providers, and C-Suite Leadership.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana (or immediate eligibility to obtain).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications (required or must obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on RN clinical experience within a Medical-Surgical, Acute Care, or Emergency Department setting.
- Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong foundation in basic and advanced nursing principles, acute clinical decision-making, and customary emergency/acute care medical equipment.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
- Ability to balance administrative leadership with active, high-acuity bedside nursing support.
