A global leader in precision motion control is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Industrial Systems Group. Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, this individual will serve as the technical authority for the development of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, and electropneumatic components.
This role is tailored for a technical expert focused on high-level system design and innovation. You will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap for product platforms across diverse, high-growth markets, including flight simulation, oil and gas exploration, and custom industrial precision machinery.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Authority: Lead engineering efforts requiring authoritative judgment in the adaptation of standard and nonstandard design techniques.

Architecture & Innovation: Define requirements for next-generation product platforms by consulting with internal and external stakeholders.

Design Validation: Spearhead trade studies and complex analyses to validate conceptual solutions; lead the design proposal team through the estimation and technical proposal stages.

Experimental Rigor: Drive reliability through comprehensive experimental development, testing programs, and advanced modeling.

Mentorship: Serve as a technical mentor, providing coaching and professional development to lower-level engineers.

Strategic Execution: Operate under consultative direction to meet long-term strategic goals for product development and market expansion.
Candidate Requirements (Must-Haves)

Experience: 10–15 years of related mechanical engineering experience in high-precision, industrial, or aerospace environments.

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred).

Core Technical Expertise:

Statics & Dynamics: Expert-level fluency.

Motion Control: Demonstrated experience with Hydraulics & Electro-Mechanical precision systems.

Structural Analysis: Proven expertise in Stress, Fatigue, and Performance Analysis.

Design Simulation: Mastery of FEA (Finite Element Analysis), CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), and Model-Based Design.

Rotating Machinery: Proven track record in the design and analysis of complex rotating components.
