Maintenance Technician (Plastic Injection Molding)

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and minimizing downtime to support continuous operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
- Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance and work order service on machines.
- Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
- Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Install replacement parts for machines.
- Prepare reports documenting work performed.
- Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
- May assist with new equipment being added or old equipment removed.
- Perform building and ground duties. Example – basic plumbing and snow removal.
- Follow organization standards.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of proven industrial manufacturing maintenance experience, specifically in mechanical/Hydraulic and electrical/electronics. (Injection Molding Experience Preferred)
- Prior experience in high volume manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Ability to use a computer to troubleshoot Keyence SR fixed mount barcode scanners.
- Ability to use a computer to troubleshoot Keyence IV, IV2, and IV3 vision sensors.
- Knowledge of changing the IP address of a technician’s computer. (Preferred)
- Proven understanding of safety relays, safety interlocks, and functional machine safety.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting and repairing light assembly mechatronics.
- Ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and replace a wide variety of 24VDC sensors such as photo-eyes, Keyence fiber optic sensors, various Keyence laser sensors, proximity sensors, and Keyence color sensors.
- Troubleshooting and repair of 480VAC electrical equipment such as contactors, relays, starters, VFD’s, and motors.
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Shift: 3rd shift (11PM to 7AM)
Salary: $30.00 - $33.00 Per Hour – Negotiable on Experience
