About the Role

Are you a practical, hands-on Mechanical PE who prefers the plant floor to a cubicle? We’re seeking a versatile Senior Mechanical Engineer based in the SW Portland area to solve real-world technical challenges for complex industrial and process manufacturing facilities.

You will bridge the gap between engineering design, client strategy, and active job-site execution—delivering practical, heavy-duty engineering solutions without being boxed into a narrow discipline.

Key Responsibilities

· Process & Piping Design: Develop P&IDs, perform flow/pressure/heat transfer calculations, and size piping, pumps, and valves.

· Mechanical Systems: Execute force, power, and structural calculations for linked mechanical, fluid, and pneumatic systems; support material handling and conveyance design.

· Client & Project Leadership: Drive project scoping, site visits, proposals, and technical presentations alongside Project Managers.

· Field Coordination: Work directly in operating industrial plants to coordinate with owners, vendors, and multi-disciplinary trade teams.

· Estimating: Develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) and accurate cost estimates.

Requirements & Qualifications

· Credentials: Active Mechanical PE license (Oregon held or easily obtained via reciprocity). Civil PEs with strong process/hydrology backgrounds welcome.

· Experience: Proven background in industrial manufacturing or process facility design. Hands-on trade experience or field construction oversight is highly valued.

· Core Skills: Ability to execute dynamic/static force calculations, basic piping/automation awareness, and client-facing communication skills.
