Sr. Manufacturing Cost Accountant
Sr. Manufacturing Cost Accountant
Building the finance backbone for next-gen UAV technology.
A heavily backed hardware startup in the Northern Virginia / DC Metro area is scaling from development into full-rate production. They are looking for their first Sr. Manufacturing / Cost Accountant to build the entire cost accounting function from scratch.
This isn't a "maintain existing spreadsheets" role, it’s a ground-floor opportunity for a true builder.
You’ll be the primary finance presence on the production floor, partnering directly with engineering and operations while owning the accounting side of an active ERP rollout.
The Highlights:
· Role: Sr. Manufacturing Accountant (Onsite)
· Location: Northern Virginia / Washington, DC Metro (Full relocation assistance available for the right candidate)
· Compensation: $125k – $155k base + discretionary bonus
· Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical/dental/vision premiums, market-leading 401(k) match, 8 weeks paid parental leave, 3+ weeks PTO.
What You’ll Own:
· Establish costing methodologies (standard/actual, labor & overhead absorption) for complex multi-component platforms.
· Stand up inventory, WIP valuation, cycle counting, and variance analysis.
· Drive the accounting & inventory modules for a fresh ERP implementation.
· Partner with engineering on BOM accuracy and NPI cost tracking.
· Conduct make-vs-buy modeling, CapEx evaluations, and operational FP&A.
What We’re Looking For:
· 5+ years in accounting/finance, with 3+ years in hands-on plant cost accounting (defense/aerospace, EV, automotive, or complex hardware preferred).
· Deep practical command of BOMs, hardware supply chains, and ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint or DCAA exposure is a huge plus).
· A self-starter who thrives in engineering-led, high-growth environments.
· Must meet U.S. Person status (ITAR/EAR compliance).
If you want to own the floor, build from the ground up, and help scale critical hardware technology, let’s talk.
