Maintenance Coordinator

Location: Richmond Hill, ON

Join a Growing Team We are looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to support our fast-paced food and beverage production facility. In this critical role, you will manage the day-to-day planning and coordination of maintenance tasks, ensuring our equipment runs smoothly and efficiently. The right candidate will have a knack for organization, attention to detail, and a background in maintenance within a food manufacturer.

Your Role Will Involve

  • Managing the maintenance schedule using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to keep repair records up to date and generate reports for tracking performance.
  • Creating and maintaining preventative maintenance plans based on manuals and equipment requirements. Ensuring work orders are generated with detailed instructions and timelines.
  • Overseeing parts and inventory management. Ensure the right components are available when needed and collaborate closely with the Tool Crib team to streamline operations.
  • Analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance and breakdowns. Use this data to identify areas for improvement and suggest practical solutions.
  • Coordinating external contractors for maintenance services. Schedule visits, maintain documentation, and ensure contractors meet company standards.
  • Supporting maintenance supervisors with staffing schedules and task allocation. Assist in aligning maintenance activities with production schedules.
  • Ensuring that preventative maintenance standards are consistently followed, updated, and optimized to minimize downtime.
  • Participating in various projects and taking on additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager to improve overall maintenance processes.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related major is required
  • 3- 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Planner, Coordinator, or similar role within a food or CPG manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and experience with CMMS or similar asset management systems.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment and maintenance processes. Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting skills are a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to managing maintenance activities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with different teams and departments.
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or Mechanic is an asset.
