Our client is looking to hire a Project Coordinator to support and drive success for large scale repair and maintenance projects. This role will effectively coordinate the completion of work orders performed by our company technicians and trusted subcontractors.  In addition, the individual will thoroughly and effectively communicate with technicians to set them up for a successful shift/week and/or project ensuring they understand the project tasks, timelines, materials to be used and goals.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Provide direct support to the Commercial Project Manager and set up the onsite trades’ professionals for success by further clarifying the written scope of work and ensuring the appropriate materials are available on time.
  • Ensure trade subcontractors are performing the task(s) as assigned and being Spencer’s representative to the client for good customer service.
  • Serve in the role of first contact and advisor when technicians need assistance troubleshooting issues that arise during a shift addressing the presented challenges before they happen as well as present appropriate timely solutions. Please note: This could happen during the technicians work shift whether day or overnight.
  • Create purchase orders and prepare orders for materials then follow up on delivery and documentation.
  • Review, understand and maintain the scope of each project using excel to document change orders, purchases, project materials, sequence of events, timelines and status of completion on track to keep the project under budget and to exceed the client’s expectations. Identify, track, manage and resolve project issues/dependencies as they arise throughout the project cycle.
  • Perform technician and subcontractor support tasks that may fall “in the gap” between the trades keeping the job moving. This includes tasks such as installing hardware, removing fixtures, cleaning up the job site and working on punch list items. Pick up and/or deliver materials when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work site that is compliant with building and safety codes.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Project Manager and Lead Technicians to maintain high quality and production outcomes.
  • Regularly make quality checks through site visits interacting with technicians and clients to provide project oversight and to assess that appropriate progress is being made.
  • Order proper material and quantities to accomplish approved projects.
  • Review techs’ documentation of completed work and reconcile to materials assigned to the project.
  • Serve as company representative to clients in order to build/maintain customer loyalty through fostering strong relationships and resolving project issues that arise and or service concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Project Management or similar; Or Relatable experience (Four (4) years’ experience in construction/remodeling project management or similar experience).
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from the office; occasionally travel to and from worksites generally within one hour of Baton Rouge. A company work vehicle is available for office to job site transportation. If company work vehicles are not available – we would pay a mileage reimbursement rate at the prevailing IRS Mileage Rate Amount.
  • Availability to work during weather emergency situations both before and immediately afterward. 
  • Resourceful with an ability to think creatively and timely solve challenge/problems.
  • Technology-savvy with the ability to navigate through key systems (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and other computer programs)
  • Effective communication skills and experience interacting with peers, leaders, trade professionals, clients and/or potential clients. This includes the ability to explain and communicate how work is to be performed with the ability to type it out or draw diagrams of how work is to be accomplished when verbal communication is insufficient.
  • Customer service support experience.
  • Working knowledge of construction project plans, reading blue prints, materials management and documentation of such.
  • Possesses the ability (both physically and with capacity for general construction knowledge) to demonstrate and correct when necessary to make sure work is performed accurately and to a high standard.
  • Available to take on-call emergency rotation during assigned weeks.
  • Own and have experience using smartphone technology to upload and send pictures as well as to sign documents.
  • Proficiency and experience performing project oversight documentation using Excel.
  • Experience troubleshooting of potential project challenges and dependencies.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen, and background check including history of Motor Vehicle Incidents and Criminal Background review.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Valid Louisiana Driver’s License without restrictions
